Iodine recycling

We now offer a free-of-charge iodine recycling service. We prevent iodine contrast media leftovers from being thrown in the sink and eliminate waste, with the aim to preserve the environment. Recycled iodine is extracted from the returned substance and used for production of GE Healthcare X-ray contrast media.

The value of +PLUSPAK™ packaging

We are the only company able to offer polypropylene bottles for our contrast media. An average radiology department loses 3.5 hours each month to injuries from broken contrast agent bottles and cuts from their sharp metal crimpings.4 With +PLUSPAK’s thoughtful packaging, designed to enhance safety and efficiency, these disruptions are entirely avoidable.

Discover how +PLUSPAK could help improve safety and efficiency in your radiology department.

Investing to meet procedural demand and provide a broad portfolio of products

To meet your demand, we have a broad portfolio of products across a wide variety of modalities covering X-ray/CT, MRI and Ultrasound and have invested over $240m in the past five years in our R&D, manufacturing and supply chain.5,6

X-ray/CT: Visipaque™ (iodixanol)

Visipaque is a third-generation X-ray contrast agent with a unique molecular structure developed to further improve upon the toxicity profile of iodinated contrast agents.9,10 It is isosmolar to blood with the aim of counteracting major fluid shifts across membranes and limiting discomfort.9,11 It is also formulated with balanced electrolytes to help minimize effects on cardiac contractile force/fibrillatory propensity.9,11

While ‘low’ osmolar agents form the mainstay in the general population of patients undergoing X-ray/CT procedures, Visipaque may be preferred for any procedure that exposes the vulnerable patient to cardiovascular or renal insult.10,12
